National Future Day with Noam Bamberger
Promoting young talents is one of the most important ways to ensure the continued success of our aviation industry, and we need to reach out to young and motivated people who are enthusiastic about aviation. Although the promotion of young talents is not the main focus of SAMA, but it became clear to me as Managing Director during the request of Jonas Bamberger – a father and a primary school teacher – that we as an association might have a chance to realise a small dream here, due to the great relationships with our members.
Noam Bamberger – Jonas's 11-year-old son – is an aviation fan, model aeroplane pilot, talented illustrator and has a great affinity for technology. His dream is to visit an aircraft maintenance company and experience the manufacturing and maintenance work at first hand. Even at such a young age, he already knows that he wants to work in aviation later.
The 11th of November 2024, the National Future Day, was the most promising opportunity for this dream to come true. Since Noam's family is not involved in the aviation industry, there were a few obstacles to overcome. Despite various understandable rejections from companies, we were able to give the young man access to the aviation. Our association member, AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG, based at the Euro-Airport Basel, was willing to grant an exception and took Noam to their National Future Day.
The excitement was endless and, as we could see from the feedback from Noam’s family, it will certainly last a long time. I was also very happy that we were able to make a difference for the next generation.
We would like to express our warmest thanks to the entire AMAC Aerospace team for this unique opportunity.
We also wish Noam Bamberger and his family all the best, and above all, much joy and fun in their future professional and personal paths.
